How to tell rather you have a type 56 or a type 57 cash drawer insert for the SAM4s SPS-500 series register. Older SPS-500 series were released with the
Type 56 Insert. Please see examples below
The first place to check and see what type of drawer you have is to check the label on the left hand side if the front of the outside of the drawer. See

In case the label is no longer on your drawer, here
is an example of the 57 insert. It is 5 bill 5 coin. All
one piece.

In case the label is no longer on your drawer, here
is an example of the 56 insert. It is 5 bill 8 coin.
The coin tray removes from the rest of the insert

You can convert an older machine to use 57 inserts by adding 4 rubber blocks, however doing so would keep the original 56 inserts from fitting.
By the same rule you could remove the blocks from newer machines enabling the 56 insert to fit , however then your 57 inserts would then not fit.
